Thanks so much for all your support. We will be on hiatus until January, 2025. Our Open Mic Cafe Groton awaits, ready to amplify your stories and songs. Doors at 6:30, Event starts at 7pm sharp. Come, be a part of our vibrant tapestry of storytellers and musicians!
Unleash your creativity with your family-friendly stories and songs. There will be children present so keep it fun and PG. We have no tolerance for adults-only subjects including political or explicit material and time limits will be strictly enforced.
We welcome all skill levels and provide the opportunity for a 15-minute set or 3 songs.
What makes us unique
We offer performers more time each. We also aim to pair spoken word and musical acts to bring more variety. We help performers be at their best by offering an optional rehearsal session the night before (Thursday 7pm). That allows performers to familiarize themselves with the space and musicians to “soundcheck” in advance to make sure they get the best sound. Through our network of musicians we can provide additional players to fill out your sound.
Storytelling in the style of The Moth is encouraged. Previous featured storyteller Matthew Dicks has written excellent guides on how to approach stories. Previous events at FPCoG have been a success — and have demonstrated the need to practice. As in The Moth, time limits will be strictly enforced.
